The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport’s After School Programme has been recognised for its innovative approach in tackling socio-economic challenges in the Western Cape.The programme won the Chairman’s Award at the Impumelelo Social Innovation Awards on Sunday 10 November for its work in building capacity in the sector and the Extended Education Practitioners’ Training Programme run in partnership with Stellenbosch University. New qualification equips After School Practitioners

On Saturday, 12 January 2019, 53 After School Practitioners became the first group to receive their short course certificates for completing the Extended Education Practitioner Training Programme (EEPTP) through Stellenbosch University (SU), in partnership with the Western Cape Government, Community Chest and Rutgers University (USA).
