Opening of Touwsrivier Pedestrian Bridge and pedestrian pathway

The opening of the Touwsrivier Pedestrian Bridge and paved pedestrian way, was held on 8 October 2019.
A very unsafe and dangerous crossing over the Donkies River existed for many years, making it almost impossible to cross with a wheelchair, prams/strollers, the elderly, young children, and people with disabilities The new pedestrian bridge and path ways, safely connects the marginalized communities of Steenvliet and Zion Park with the CBD, clinic, sport facilities (swimming pool, netball court) and facilities and services on the eastern side of the Donkies River.
