Water Resilience for Business
As a response to the water crisis and to help businesses adjust to the “New Normal” of water scarcity the Sustainable Water Use Journey has been mapped out and proposes actions for each step of the journey. It is proposed for a business to understand their water uses and risks. This can include undertaking a water audit or metering and monitoring monthly water use. Setting water use reduction targets and identifying risks are all first steps along the water use journey. The second and third steps look at making investments in water efficiency interventions and changes in behaviour. The final step along the journey, and often the most costly and complex, is to develop alternative water supply options. By making changes in the first three steps, the costs of implementing alternative water supplies can be dramatically reduced.
