Date: Tuesday, 18 November - 12:00 to Tuesday, 18 November - 14:00
We are launching a series of Green Investment Mapping Forums that will assist in the development of the Green Economy in the Western Cape.
In 2013/14 we conducted an audit of the Green Economy selected sub sectors with the aim of determining a baseline of private sector green economic activities. The project was initiated in 2013 where investment in the renewable energy sector was examined. In 2014, the investment figures, job creation, annual turnover, skills shortages, and constraints and challenges were investigated in the following sectors: Water, Waste, Built Environment, Agri-production, and Eco-tourism. Our study included investments, jobs, skills needs as well as key challenges and constraints to business growth. This study rendered crucial insights into the Green Economy in the Western Cape, which we would like to share.
The discussion will therefore focus on green investment, skills shortages and red tape.
