Zero waste and local food project at Hout Bay Schools
Thrive commits to establish and support effective waste and compost systems, food gardens and fruit/nut orchards at 10 Hout Bay schools by end 2013 and offer on-going support and assistance at Sentinel Primary with the rehabilitation on 3 August 2013 of school embankment. Thrive will do an environmental audit of 10 Hout Bay schools and select three schools who will win a weekend away on an environmental camp for 21 learners with the Cape Leopard Trust. Thrive will continue to support the Hout Bay Recycling cooperative established in 2008 to grow to 10 members. Thrive will continue assisting Hanberg Herwin Ladies (HHL) organise a mass community clean-up on 31st August at which HHL will launch their recycling cooperative of 12 members in September 2013.
