The Roads Branch of the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works has commissioned the upgrading of the R310 (Baden Powell Drive) between Annandale Road and the M12 Polkadraai Road (Stellenbosch Arterial). Construction is well underway.
As part of the project, various services crossing Baden Powell Drive will be relocated or removed. This work requires full-road closures for short periods. The first closure of Baden Powell Drive will take place on 13 October 2022 for a live Eskom cable to be removed. The work will take approximately one hour and take place between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00. More details are provided overleaf.
The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance. Every effort will be made to ensure that all necessary traffic accommodation measures are effectively maintained, and alternative routes are identified and signposted.
Baden Powell Drive will be closed between the entrance to Spier Estate and the Total Service Station at Lynedoch on 13 October 2022 between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00. Traffic will be rerouted from Vlottenburg via the Lynedoch Access Road to bypass the road closure and join the New Vlaeberg Road from which motorists can access Annandale Rd, Stellenbosch Arterial/ Polkadraai Rd, and the N2.
Local access between Vlottenburg and Spier Estate will not be affected. Motorists are encouraged to make use of alternative routes where possible.
