The Department of Transport and Public Works hosts an annual Participatory Education Techniques (PET) Competition in partnership with the Road Traffic Management Corporation. The PET competition is one of the flagship programmes of the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) that focuses on identifying hazardous roads or road safety problems and find researched solutions to the problem.

Grade 10 and 11 learners
What is the aim of the competition?
The aim of the programme is to encourage learners to identify road safety problems and find hands on researched solutions to their communities’ road safety problems.
