The Provincial Minister of Mobility, Daylin Mitchell, will tomorrow, Tuesday 18 October 2022, hand over bicycles at Ned Doman High School in Athlone.
The handover is part of the Provincial Sustainable Transport Programme (PSTP) of the Department of Transport and Public Works. PSTP was initiated by the Department to support the development and implementation of sustainable transport systems in the Western Cape.
The programme has thus far supported mobility programmes for learner transport, micro-enterprise support, food distribution, neighbourhood watches and even the delivery of medicines during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Western Cape Government has distributed over 2000 bicycles since the programme’s inception in November 2019.
