The Provincial Minister of Mobility, Daylin Mitchell, will tomorrow, Thursday 28 July 2022, celebrate the best Blue Dot taxi drivers at an awards ceremony to acknowledge their hard work and commitment to this project.
A year ago, the Western Cape Government partnered with the provincial minibus taxi industry to roll out the groundbreaking Blue Dot taxi pilot project, an incentive programme to reward improved driving behaviour and good passenger service quality.
Minister Mitchell will be recognising those drivers who have achieved a high score. Scores comprise two elements: commuter feedback about specific vehicles gathered through the free USSD app, and driving behaviour in specific vehicles as measured by the electronic device installed in every Blue Dot vehicle.
Drivers with the best combined score in each region will win the Top Driver Award for that region. The runners-up will win Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards.
