Older persons residential facilities
The Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) is dedicated to upholding, safeguarding, and advancing the rights and well-being of older individuals. It is our firm belief that every elderly resident should experience a life marked by good health and dignity.
In pursuit of this commitment, the DSD presently provides funding to 118 residential facilities catering to older persons throughout the Province.
While the Department of Social Development subsidises a variety of services for older individuals, it does not own or operate residential frail care facilities, independent living, or assisted living facilities. Each facility maintains its own admission criteria and payment structures. Prospective residents should apply directly to these facilities.
