Access CapeNature
CapeNature is a public institution with the statutory responsibility for biodiversity conservation in the Western Cape. It is governed by the Western Cape Nature Conservation Board Act 15 of 1998 and mandated to: promote and ensure nature conservation; render services and provide facilities for research and training; and generate income.
CapeNature manages numerous nature reserves in the Western Cape, 25 of these reserves are open to the public to visit.
Scattered throughout the Western Cape, CapeNature reserves are as diverse as the land they occupy and offer the perfect escape from busy city life.
Activities vary between reserves and may include one or more of the following: day hikes, multi-day trails, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, kloofing, rock climbing, 4x4ing, whale watching, birdwatching, horse riding, donkey carting.
