We are open for business!
MEDIA ALERT BY JOHAN BRAND
Western Cape Police Ombudsman
Date 9 July 2020
Release: Immediate
The office of the Western Cape Police Ombudsman is once again, open to the public for consultations in person.
We are happy to inform all our clients that our walk-in center is once again operational. Our offices are now fully PPE compliant and we are able to have face to face contact with our clients.
The ombudsman, Johan Brand, said "During the lock-down period, my office was only able to receive complaints telephonically, and electronically, through the email and website. However, we are now able to once again have face to face consultations with our clients. Essentially this provides an opportunity for those who prefer lodging their complaints in person, or those who do not have access to email and websites, with an opportunity to speak to an Investigator, face to face. We have found that 40% of our clients during the previous financial year have preferred lodging their complaints about Police inefficiencies in this way."
Whilst we uphold social distancing we note that all clients will be subject to a Covid 19 questionnaire and a temperature check upon arrival. Our officials will only allow 2 clients into our waiting area at a time. We will also maintain the no mask no entry rule. Our offices are open from 07:30 - 15:30 from Monday to Friday.
We look forward to seeing our face to face clients!
