About Piketberg WCG eCentre
Piketberg is located about 80 km east of Saldanha Bay. The municipality is one of the five municipalities in the district, accounting for 14% of its geographical area. Piketberg is the seat of the municipal council.
The Piketberg WCG eCentre tackles the lack of access to information and communication technologies (ICT) that increases the digital divide and hinders access to government information, services, and skills development opportunities, in agricultural area and surrounding farms/communities.
Although the eCentre was opened its doors in February 2024, it was officially launched by Premier Alan Winde, Dr Harry Malila, Western Cape Director-General and Ald Ray van Rooy, Executive Mayor of Bergriver Municipality on 23 May 2024.
