Western Cape Provincial Parliament Participate in Annual People's Assembly of the National Parliament

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament will take part in the annual People's Assembly of the National Parliament held this month in Oudtshoorn under the theme All Shall Have Equal Rights.

The nine provinces shall link up to Oudtshoorn for the main event. The main discussion points are "Women's Participation in the Rural Economy", "The Impact of Legislation Dealing with Unlawful Discrimination Against People with Disabilities" and "The Rights of the Child: Child Labour with Specific Focus on Children on Farms".

As partner of the People's Assembly, the Western Cape Provincial Parliament shall have its gathering in Atlantis.

This is also part of our Tenth Anniversary of the Constitution and in line with the Constitution's aims to have people voices heard on issues affecting them.

The People's Assembly serves as a platform to review the progress of lack of it regarding all legislation through direct interaction with communities.
