New Year's Babies

The Western Cape Government Department of Health is proud to announce that the first baby to be born on New Year's Day was born at Mowbray Maternity Hospital. The baby (female) was born at 00:01, weighing 3.1 kg.

The second baby born on New Year's Day (female) was born at Tygerberg Hospital at 00:30, weighing 3.2 kg. Both babies and their mothers are doing well.

One set of twins (both male) was born at Mowbray Maternity Hospital and one of set of twins at Worcester Hospital (one male and one female).

Thus far, 46 New Year's babies were born in the Western Cape Province - 30 females and 16 males.
