Mitchells Plain Honours Sports Stars on Women's Day

Other nominees include Lynn Lekay of the softball team going to Beijing; Gladys Bullock who teaches disabled people to do ballroom, latin and social dancing; Debbie Europa who is associated with the pool world championships; Christine Hendricks, Chairperson of Mitchells Plain Netball Association; Wiedah Stevens, Manager of Under 13 and Under 15 Tafelsig Football Club; and Carol Witbooi, Chairperson of Beacon Valley Sports Council.

Guest speaker at the cocktail function will be Cllr Elizabeth Thompson, Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Roads and Stormwater.

The Mitchells Plain Sub Council serves six wards, including Strandfontein.
