Mitchells Plain Commuters get R128m Transport Interchange

The Mitchells Plain Public Transport Interchange will be officially launched by the Speaker, Alderman Gavin Paulse on Thursday, 23 February 2006. He will be accompanied by the Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Roads and Stormwater, Councillor Danile Landingwe.

The new facility of R128 million consists of various projects such as the integration of spatial areas within the Mitchells Plain CBD, taxi rank facilities, a new bus terminus, informal market facilities, landscaping, new roads, public buildings, CCTV systems, a pedestrian bridge and the establishment of a City Improvement District.

The launch will mark the official opening of the northern terminal and market square components of the development. All media are invited to attend.
