Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha Communities to Participate in Clean-Up Hike

Wolfgat Nature Reserve, a biodiversity treasure box in the heart of the Cape Flats will host a community clean-up hike. Some 120 youth from the communities of Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha as well as 21 household volunteers will participate in this project.

Wolfgat Nature Reserve is one of four pilot sites of Cape Flats Nature Partnership Project and is a partnership between the City of Cape Town, South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), Table Mountain Fund (WWF-SA) and the Botanical Society of South Africa under the banner of Cape Action for People and the Environment (CAPE).

Time: 09:00 till 14:00

Venue: Wolfgat Nature Reserve

All media are invited to attend. The clean-up hike will start at 09:30 at the Swartklip Road car park (on Baden Powell Drive) and end at 14:00 at Mnandi Beach Resort.
