Minister Mackenzie's arrival following successful inscription of World Heritage Site

On Tuesday, 30 July 2024, Provincial Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, will return to Cape Town after leading the Western Cape delegation at the 46th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in New Delhi.

This follows the successful inscription as a World Heritage Site of two rock shelters in the Western Cape (Diepkloof Rock Shelter near Elands Bay and Pinnacle Point Site Complex in Mossel Bay) as part of the South African nomination, ‘The Emergence of Modern Human Behaviour: The Pleistocene Occupation Sites of South Africa.’
