On 2 October 2019, Groote Schuur Hospital will unveil its new halcyon radiotherapy machine. This is the latest innovation in the Hospital’s Oncology Department following the construction of a new bunker, the installation of two radiotherapy machines, and the addition of a new state-of-the-art brachytherapy machine. This halcyon radiotherapy machine will enable the Hospital to deliver high-quality treatments, and reduce patient waiting times.
On the day, Head of Radiation Oncology Professor Jeannette Parkes will highlight the machine’s key features. There will also be a testimony of the first patient who recently used the machine.
