At the Beaufort West museum there will be family history workshops. Local schools have been invited to debate on tangible and intagible heritage.
The main event will take place at Worcester Museum where "Aunties Project", a group of 12 women from the Cape Winelands who have made special contributions to their communities, will share their life experiences and struggles with the youth.
MEC Jacobs who will deliver a keynote address at the main event in Worcester says, "This is the first real opportunity for the affected communities to take practical steps of ensuring that collections at museums were fully representative of the cultural diversity and were being democratized".
The media is invited to celebrations at Worcester Museum from 09:00.
