Heinz Park GBV Ambassador Programme launch

The media are invited to attend the launch of the Western Cape Department of Social Development’s (DSD) Victim Empowerment Programme (VEP) Forum and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Ambassadors programme in Heinz Park.

Premier Alan Winde and Provincial Minister of Social Development Jaco Londt will be in attendance.

This is the fourth model of its kind in the province which forms part of DSD’s and the Western Cape Government’s commitment to supporting survivors of GBV. The GBV ambassadors – who are trained volunteers from the community – will provide information about support services available for the intervention and prevention of GBV to residents of Heinz Park.

The Premier and Minister will also join the ambassadors for an awareness blitz in the area.
