Guguletu Residents Asked to Assist with Crime Prevention Campaign

6 October 2005
Residents of and visitors to Guguletu will see a visible police presence, law enforcement and crime prevention in and around Guguletu during October.

Over weekends, intensified campaigns will be conducted from 19:00 on Saturday night until 07:00, Sunday morning and again from 19:00 on Sunday until 07:00 on Monday.

During the joint operation between the City Police and the South African Police Services, high jacking and robbery hot spots will be targeted.

Members of the community and visitors are requested to cooperate with the two police forces and to be patient during any enforcement action. The operation is aimed at crime prevention, traffic law and by-law enforcement.

Education and safety campaigns will also be conducted to inform communities about how to protect themselves and their property.
