Food Security Taken One Step Further Through Public/Private Partnership.

The Minister of Agriculture, Cobus Dowry, will open a public/private partnership food security project in Philippi, 25 April 2006.

This project is a joint venture between the Department of Agriclture, the Muslim Judicial Council, the SA Agri Academy and a farmer from Philippi. Food security projects in the urban node will play a vital role in the new Philippi market and also to put food on the table of the people.

Directions to the AgRIC:

  • N2 to Cape Town
  • Jan Smuts Drive towards Strandfontein (Athlone Power Station), opposite direction to Pinelands
  • Pass Makro, turn left into Schaapkraal Road (at A.C Centre, 5th Avenue intersection)
  • Turn left into Boom Street (Country Manor turn-off)
  • Orient Rehabilitation Centre, green double storey wooden building towards the end of the road.

Alternate Route:

  • Varkensvlei Road (towards mountain), turn left at 4 way stop
