Disruption of Water supply to Fish Hoek on Tuesday, 13 October

11 October 2009
The City of Cape Town's Water and Sanitation Department needs to urgently shut down the water supply line from the Ranger Road Reservoir in Fish Hoek in order to replace a valve on the corner of 14th Avenue and Nelson Street.

The work is scheduled for Tuesday 13 October 2009 and the water supply will be disrupted from 09:00 to 16:00.

This will result in either low water pressure or no water at all in the area below the reservoir. The Department will try to re-route the water supply in the area in order to limit the area affected by the disruption. A water tanker will be placed in Ivanhoe Street (near the Spar) to supply residents with drinking water during this period.

Residents are kindly requested to ensure that all taps remain closed during this period otherwise large volumes of water may be lost and/or water damage may occur if the water supply is restored and nobody is at home.

The City apologises for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their co-operation.
