City's Town Planning Department Introduces New Standardised Forms

17 October 2006
In order to improve its customer service, the City's Town Planning Department has introduced a new single, city-wide standardised application form and submission requirements for Land Use Management applications such as rezonings, subdivisions and departures.

Cheryl Walters, Director: Town Planning, said: "This replaces a variety of forms previously in use at the Department's various district offices and is intended to simplify and streamline application processes to ensure a uniform customer experience across all districts".

The new forms are available from the public counters at all Town Planning district offices across the city.

As from 1 November 2006 the City will only accept applications made on the new forms.

In order to prevent any undue delays in the processing of their applications, applicants are requested to ensure that submissions are made on the correct forms and accompanied by all prescribed supporting documentation.

Enquiries regarding the new forms can be directed to the Land Use Management Section of the City's Town Planning Department on Tel: 021 400 1802/2565, Fax: 021 425 6495 or e-mail lums@capetown.gov.za.
