The South African Weather Service Warnings and Advisory for 27-29 July

The South African Weather Services has issued an advisory for stormy weather from 27-29 July 2024.

The following warnings were issued for this weekend:  

1. Level 4 warning for Disruptive Rain for Cape Agulhas, Langeberg, Overstrand, Saldanha Bay and Swartland Municipalities for 27 July 2024.
2. Level 5 warning for Disruptive Rain for City of Cape Town, Breede Valley, Drakenstein, Stellenbosch, Witzenberg and and Theewaterskloof Municipalities for 27 July 2024.
3. Level 6 warning for Damaging Wind and Waves between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas, spreading to Alexadra Bay and Plettenberg Bay from 27 to 29 July 2024.
4. Level 3 warning for Damaging Winds over the Cape Winelands into the eastern interior for 27 July 2024.

Although the amount of rainfall expected is not significant, there are concerns that this rainfall might exacerbate the current situation in municipalities following the previous rainfall events.
