The Minister will kick-start her visit with a walk-about around the Festival, making a stop at the Youth Oyster Festival with the Mayor of Knysna, Georlene Wolmarans. Minister Mbombo will be available for interviews throughout the day.
On Saturday, 12 July, she will be officially opening the Momentum Cape Times Knysna Forest Marathon & Half Marathon. The gun will go off at 7:00 at the Glebe in the forest for the full marathon and at 8:00 for the half marathon. The marathon will finish at the Festival Pavilion on Waterfront Drive. Minister Mbombo will be available for interviews for the duration of this event.
The Minister will then proceed to the Knysna Soccer Tournament which kicks off at 10:30 at the Hornlee Sports Ground. This is a local football tournament in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs & Sport. Playoffs will include Juniors U/13, U/15 & U/17, Seniors, Veterans and Women from the Knysna Area.
She will then conclude her visit by attending both the Netball and 7-a-side Rugby Finals.
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport continues to support this great sporting event that is not only for the people of the Western Cape but for the rest of the country as well.
