On Thursday, 14 October 2021, Western Cape Minister of Huma Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will conduct a sod turn for the Dysselsdorp development, in Oudtshoorn,
this project, which forms part of the Integrated Residential Development Programme(IRDP), has a budget allocation of R129 million. The project is expected to create 534 housing opportunities upon its completion during the 2023/24 financial year.
Minister Simmers said: “I am delighted that we have reached this particular stage of the project, as this marks the beginning of great things to come for this community. This development will bring about much needed change in this area. Amongst others, it will provide housing opportunities for various income groups, while also creating empowerment and job opportunities for local SMME’s and workers.
As the Western Cape Government, we remain committed to accelerating human settlement delivery, while promoting social inclusion through the development of integrated, resilient, safe and sustainable human settlements in an open opportunity society”.
