"I am happy to announce today that, as from this year, we will extend our bursaries from 10 to 250 students over the next three years. We will appropriate over R5 million for 130 bursaries this year (2006) and this amount will increase according to the number of students we will be assisting in the future," MEC Marius Fransman said.
The idea is to establish a Learning Organisation Unit that will support the sustainability of scarce skills in the Department. Along with this unit, the Masakh' iSizwe project will therefore boost the mission of our Department; to deliver a transport system and property infrastructure that is integrated, safe, reliable, affordable, sustainable and of the desired quality, through socially just, developmental and empowering processes that will improve the quality of life of our communities.
