Four top Western Cape teachers honoured at the National teaching Awards!

Western Cape teachers have excelled at the 24^th National Teaching Awards held in Boksburg this morning!

Coinciding with World Teachers’ Day on 5 October each year, the Awards recognise teaching excellence across the county. We are delighted that two of our Western Cape teachers were announced as winners, with a further two ranking in the top 3 in their categories.

Our top achieving teachers are:

• Kader Asmal Lifetime Achievement Award: Derek Swart, Paarl Boys’ High School, Paarl – WINNER
• Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (GET): Ethon Leigh Alexander, Fraaisig Primary School, Knysna – WINNER
• Excellence in Special Needs Teaching: Chadwin Bagley, Rusthof School, Rusthof, Strand – 2^nd PLACE
• Excellence in teaching Physical Sciences (FET): Bernice van Blerk, Vredenberg High School, Vredenberg – 3^rd PLACE

We congratulate them on this outstanding achievement, which is a testament to the incredible work these teachers do every day!
