Tomorrow the Western Cape Minister of Social Development, Albert Fritz, will join millions of South Africans in devoting 67 minutes in service of their fellow citizens, as we remember the spirit of former President Nelson Mandela.
Minister Fritz will be participating in 2 events tomorrow to commemorate Mandela Day;
Mandela Day charity drive with Chef Jenny Morris
Minister will don his cook’s apron and join internationally renowned celebrity chef, Jenny Morris, to bake bread and make soup for the needy, and to raise funds for charity and shelters for the homeless.
Chef Jenny Morris is calling on South Africans and corporates to order especially baked muffins at R20 each. Each muffin sold will see the proceeds provide a warm bed to 2 homeless and needy residents at The Haven Night Shelter.

Rise Against Hunger event at Grandwest
Minister Fritz will begin by joining the 2018 Rise Against Hunger charity event at the Grandwest Casino. The Rise Against Hunger event plans to pack a target of 180 000 meals on the day to be donated to shelters and charities across the city.
Minister will join approximately 1200 volunteers from the private sector, NGOs and the general public who will each give their 67 minutes to pack meals.
