To recap, Story Stars is the epic adventure of Felix and Felicity, written by learners of the Western Cape and it’s time to send our heroes on their next quest. We want your learners to tell us what happens next...

We are proud to announce that we have a winner for the 2024 Story Stars essay competition. Anina Walters from Durbanville Primary School was named the winner. Please see below to read the stories of all the runners-up.
The deadline for 2025 entries is 12 May 2025.
We would like to encourage all Grade 4 learners to enter the competition and for their educators to submit the best stories in their class. A rubric for assessment is included.

The learner’s entry must have:
Name and surname of the learner, the school’s name, and the name, telephone and email address of the Grade 4 educator.
Additional notes
- All stories must be the learner’s own words.
- Only handwritten stories will be accepted.
- Schools are to submit only their best stories.
- Only scans that are clear and legible will be accepted.
What you can win
Prizes to the value of R50 000 for you and your teacher and your school!
Prizes in 2025 will be handed out to the best Afrikaans, English and Xhosa story. The ultimate winner will then be chosen from these stories.
The schools of the 3 winners, will each receive a R10 000 transfer payment for learner resource material.
