Directorate: Financial Accounting

Purpose:

To promote sound financial accounting practice.

Functions:

• Ensure efficient cash management including disbursements.
• Ensure efficient and economic recovery of debt.
• Ensure smooth and successful operations on the Basic Accounting System (BAS) as well as sound financial reporting.

Purpose:

To provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives.

Functions:

• Monitor and evaluate the system of internal control in order to improve effectiveness, efficiency and economy of operations.
• Increase the performance of work-units in a planned effort to increase organisational performance.
• Promote the effective detection and recovery of losses.

Purpose:

To manage salaries and related aspects pertaining to this directorate.

Functions:

• Provide support to the Directorate in effecting its mandate.
• Ensure effective and efficient salary administration.
