2026 Admissions now open for Grade R, 1, and 8 in Western Cape: Don’t wait!

The on-time admissions applications window for learners attending Grade R, 1, and 8 in the Western Cape in 2026 is now open. From 11 March 2025 to 15 April 2025, parents can apply for a place for their child.

Here’s what you’ll need

Identification: Learner and parent/caregiver's ID or birth certificate, passports, refugee/asylum seeker permits, as applicable.
Immunisation card or Road to Health chart (for pre-primary and primary schools).
Latest official school report or academic report.
Proof of residence: Rates account, lease agreement, or an affidavit.

Submit your applications online and scan/upload all necessary documents to the zero-rated online admissions system. There is no need to drop off hard copies when applying online — certified hard copies will only be needed once an offer is accepted.

For parents without online access, in-person assistance is available through 125 pop-up events at shopping malls and schools. You can also get help at your education district office or the specific school you're applying to.
