Jo-Ann Johnston

A graduate of UCT with a Masters of Philosophy in Urban Infrastructure Design and Management, Jo-Ann Johnston is the Head of Department in the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism. 

Before joining the provincial government in 2005, she worked as a teacher, as an investment advisor at Wesgro, the Western Cape Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, and at the national DTIC’s Trade and Investment South Africa as an Executive and as a Diplomat.
