Development Management Perception Survey 2026

The Directorate: Development Management, which is responsible for the administration of Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”) applications, is conducting its annual client perception survey. The purpose of this survey is to assess how you, as a client of this Directorate, perceive the services it provides. 

Please note that responses should relate only to the Directorate: Development Management (EIA component) and should not include reference to any other component within the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (for example, S24G, Waste Management, Appeals, or Development Facilitation).

The Directorate further requests your assistance in expanding the distribution of this survey to any interested parties on your mailing list or within your professional network. The intention is to obtain a broad range of perspectives to enhance the reliability and usefulness of the survey results. Kindly ensure that responses relate to interactions with the Directorate during the period February 2025 to January 2026.

The Directorate would appreciate your participation by completing the survey below. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The closing date to complete the survey is THURSDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2026 AT 12H00.

Important Notice: REGIONAL Completion of Survey

This year, the survey is conducted per the regional office of the Directorate: Development Management, namely the Cape Town Office and the George Office.

At the start of the survey, participants are required to select the regional office in respect of which they wish to provide feedback. All questions must then be answered only with reference to the selected regional office.

Participants who have interacted with more than one regional office may complete the survey separately for each region, by submitting a new survey response for each applicable regional office.
