A project to upgrade and revamp the Gene Louw Traffic College started in 2011 with the main building.
After the main building was completed the next phase stated. This phase include the upgrading of the current Pit Area, for testing vehicles for roadworthiness, and the K53 track for testing and facilitating drivers licences.
The construction of the brand new pit area for the Examiner of Vehicle (EOV) section is now completed as well as the K53 track for the Examiner for Driving Licences (EDL).
The pit and K53 track area is in full use with training sessions. The Class section at the new Pit Area is also being utilised. The class room door open directly into the pit area for easy access to the practical demonstrations during lessons.
