Invitation for comment on the proposed 2026/27 Liquor License Fee Adjustments for the Western Cape Province

Invitation for comment on the proposed 2026/27 Liquor License Fee Adjustments for the Western Cape Province

The Provincial Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety in the Western Cape intends to adjust provincial liquor license fees for the 2026/27 financial year and invites licensees, applicants and other stakeholders to comment on the proposed fee adjustments.

The proposed fee adjustments are based on a structured, evidence-based costing exercise and form part of a phased approach to more cost-reflective fees over several years.

It is therefore important that stakeholders understand why the fees are being adjusted, how the proposed increases were determined, and how the impact has been considered.

A clear rationale for the proposed 2026/27 Liquor License Fee Adjustments (and further details) may be viewed by clicking on the link below. Any comments may be submitted in writing to ahrcomments@westerncape.gov.za by no later than Monday, 23 November 2026.
