Paarl East e-Centre is situated in Chicago, Paarl East, in the Drakenstein Municipality.
Paarl is well-known for its grape vines and the town is visited by many tourists throughout the year because of its beautiful landscape. In the apartheid era, former president Nelson Mandela was imprisoned at, and later released from, Victor Verster Prison in Paarl. The name has since changed to Drakenstein Prison.
