Road Safety Workshop to Focus on Public Transport

25 February 2015

Safely Home will host its fifth  Global Road Safety Partnership And Safely Home Road Safety Workshop on 26 February 2015 at Childsafe at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Rondebosch in Cape Town.

The theme for the workshop is public transport.

More than 17 000 South Africans are killed on our roads each year, including nearly 3 000 children.

Another 68 000 people are seriously injured. These deaths and injuries are preventable, and are costing the country more than 8% of GDP per annum.

Attendees will learn more about the critical role that public transport plays in creating a safer road environment, and how they and the communities they represent and interact with can also play a role in saving lives and preventing serious injuries.
